Lord, You are:

Compassionate and close to us

We find this through Jesus;

Merciful and forgiving.

We learn this at the Lord Jesus’ †;

Generous and self giving.

We experience this in receiving the Holy Spirit;

Faithful and true to us.

We know this in finding Your promises fulfilled;

Wise and forthcoming.

We learn this by studying the sacred Scriptures.

Benevolent and bountiful.

We trust in You sacramentally.

Why, oh why, would anyone turn their back on You?

“So teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom.” (Psalm 90 v 12)

“To You, O LORD, I lift up my soul.” (Psalm 25 v 1)

Dearest Father, gift us please, the grace to seek and find You, through our developing a friendship with the Lord Jesus, learning from Him and the teaching Spirit of love, trusting that You will always be with those

who desire this. So let us pray continuously. Amen.
